WHAT: Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) is a life-changing event held every four years in different locations across the United States and Canada. 7,000 High School students from the Church of the Nazarene gather together in a time of worship, teaching, and community outreach united by a common belief in Jesus Christ.
NYC includes service projects and missional work throughout the host city. NYC features speakers, relevant worship, live concerts featuring today’s most popular Christian recording artists, inspiring teaching, and the Rec Hall filled with individual and group activities, games, and exhibits. WHO: Students entering 9th grade (in 2019) through completed 12th grade are eligible to attend NYC2019. WHEN: July 8th - 15th, 2019 ESTIMATED COST: $1,795.00* *Final costs will not be determined until November when airline schedules and ticket rates become available. ONLINE REGISTRATION: USA/Canada NYI is now accepting online registrations. To register Students (and parents) and Sponsors will need to request a registration invitation and link that is provided by the District NYC Coordinator. After filling out the information to the rigt you will receive a registration link specifically for the West Virginia North registration page. The online registration system will allow parents to register multiple children under one family account. The registration system will NOT accept payments. All money will still be sent to the District NYC Coordinator. EXCURSIONS AND ACTIVITIES: With NYC2019 being hosted in Phoenix, Arizona, this will be a great opportunity to experience the American Southwest. Our trip will include a day excursion to the Grand Canyon featuring stops to see the Sedona Red Rocks, Route 66, and the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Our field (MVNU) event will also step into the wild west as we spend an evening at Rawhide Western Town with the Six Gun Theatre and dinner at the chuckwagon. Other activities and events will be planned as the schedule and costs are finalized. DEADLINES: Due to the need to book group airline tickets, our District registration deadline is October 15th with a $450 deposit. This is different from the USA/Canada NYI deadline. We will reserve extra seats depending on the airline return and cancellation policy which may allow for limited registrations up to January 15th. Quarterly payments will then be due according to the following schedule: October 15, 2018 - $450 deposit due January 15, 2019 - 2nd $450 installment due April 15, 2019 - 3rd $450 installment due June 15, 2019 - Final $445 balance due NYC SPONSORS: If applying as a sponsor you need to be at least 23 years of age as of July 8, 2019.
